Pre-stressed cable supported  and bolted ball joint grid

There are 5 grid structures in this project. 3 of them are pre-stressed grid and the ohter 2 are bolted ball joint grid. the maximum span of these grids is 42m.

A new bolted ball joint systems is used in this project to improve safty of the grid. The new joint system can avoid fake screw phenomenon in traditional bolted joint.

Finite element model of the bolt is built to test its structural behavior. Simulation results guide the design of the bolt.

We designed the bolt and sleeve.

Finite element model of the dome is built by MIDAS. Then Static, dynamic and stability simulations are carried out. The size of the structure components are designed on the basis of the simulation results.

Nearly 40 engineering drawings are drawn by AutoCAD.
